Booking Conditions
*NB It is the attendee’s responsibility to ensure that Little Book Retreats are advised in advance of any special dietary requirements and allergies so they can be catered for. Little Book Retreats cannot accept any liability for adverse effects arising from allergies or dietary requirements of which they have not been advised before the attendee’s arrival.
Payment Details:
A deposit of £100 is required to secure all write-only & reading retreat bookings and £150.00 for tutored retreats. Payment of the balance of the retreat cost is due two weeks prior to arrival date. Payment can currently be made via PayPal or by BACS. Bank account/PayPal details available on request at time of booking.

Cancellation policy: Attendees cancelling more than 8 weeks in advance will receive a full refund of all money paid. There can be no refund of the deposit if an attendee cancels less than 8 weeks before the retreat, unless the organisers are able to fill the place.
If a course is cancelled, all money will be refunded.
A minimum of three attendees are required to enable a retreat to proceed. In the event that we have fewer than three confirmed bookings within two weeks of the retreat start date, the retreat will be cancelled and all monies paid will be refunded. In the event that a retreat is cancelled, no travel expenses incurred by attendees will be reimbursed.
GDPR: Your details will be used only for administering the retreat and will not be shared with any other third parties.
Accessibility:
All of the bedrooms except Baggins, and all bathrooms, are upstairs. Starkadder and Elliot have ensuite bathrooms with both shower and bath tub. Poirot, Everdeen and Honeychurch all share a bathroom with double sink, walk-in shower and bath tub. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with WC and sink.
All bedrooms are fitted out with a double bed, except Starkadder which has a Super King sleigh bed and Elliot which has a King bed. All rooms have a writing desk with lamp and chair, toiletries, fresh towels and blankets and hairdryers.
There are also stairs accessing the rear of the property from the decking. Two small steps form the front access of the house.

Travel: The closest major railway station to the property is Doncaster. Please let us know if you will be arriving by train and need assistance with arranging transport from the station to the property.

If arriving by car, the property is close to the M1, M62 and A1 motorways. Please ask for directions if needed. There is ample off-road parking at the property for those arriving by car.

Arrival and departure:
Arrivals from 3 pm on Friday. Departure by 11 am on Monday for writing retreats, 6 pm on Sunday for Reading retreats.
Please notify us if you will be arriving after 6 pm on Friday so we can arrange the catering accordingly.
Meals:
The following meals are included in the price:
Friday – Dinner
Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Sunday – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (no dinner on Sunday on Reading retreats)
Monday - Breakfast (excluding Reading retreats)
Dinner is served at 6 pm consisting of two courses served at the dining table with a glass of red or white wine or soft drinks.
Lunch will be at 12.30 and is buffet-style with a selection of salads, breads and hot or cold accompaniments such as quiches, cold meats, fish, cheese, pasta, jackets potatoes etc
Breakfast is help-yourself any time between 7am - 10 am to cereals, granolas, toast, pastries, jams and spreads, yogurts, fruits, juice, tea, coffee. Early or late riser, it’s up to you!
In addition, a selection of unlimited hot and cold drinks and snacks are available throughout the day on a ‘help yourself’ basis including coffee, a selection of teas, juices and squash, fresh fruit, homemade biscuits, flapjacks and cake.
Wi-Fi code:
The Wi-Fi code will be available on arrival. WiFi is available throughout the house and on the decking and patio, but not at the far reaches of the garden.
Animals:
A small friendly cocker spaniel and a cat live at the property full time. If you have severe allergies to animal dander, please be aware of this. If you have any concerns about the presence of the pets, please do get in touch and we will see what arrangements can be made to accommodate you.
We also have three horses living behind the property who also welcome a pat from friendly guests.
The dog loves walks and will happily accompany any guest on a ramble!
Nearest shops:
The nearest shops are in the next village around 3 miles away and include two pharmacies and a small supermarket. Please ask if you need anything at any time, there are no shops within easy walking distance of the property.
Pub:
There is a fantastic, welcoming country pub 100 yards from the property with open fires, darts and snooker, food in the evenings and at weekends, proper Yorkshire beer and friendly locals. If the party would like to take one of their evening meals in the pub rather than at the property, this can be arranged in advance if everyone agrees. Saturday is fish and chip day, and they do roasts on a Sunday.
